Synopsis
The dark fantasy follows a high school sophomore named Akihito Kanbara. Although the boy appears human, he is half youmu and invulnerable to wounds because he can heal quickly. One day, Akihito meets freshman Mirai Kuriyama when it seems she is about to jump from the school rooftop. Mirai is isolated because of her ability to manipulate blood, which is unique even among members of the spirit world. Disturbing events begin to unfold after Akihito saves Mirai.

Rating: 9.3 / 10

When mythology combines with real life you can spawn amazing stories. This is basically what Kyoukai no Kanata is. This is about as detailed as I will get, because I wouldn't want to spoil the anime.

Action

Rating: 8 / 10

This anime has some great action sequences within it. However, the reasons behind them actually effect the plot, because without knowing them you won't entirely get the story line, as it plays a majour part. These action scenes that help make up the plot aren't around played in every other minute in the anime, so don't expect them in every episode, though they are there.


Audio

Rating: 9 / 10

I absolutely love the ending theme, it's amazing in my opinion. As goes for the opening. This alone, doesn't make an anime, however. The audio is rather good, and fits most of the setting within the anime. I give it a fairly high rating because of this.


Animation

Rating: 9 / 10

The animation is absolutely fantastic, I cannot get enough of it. If you haven't already realized, I won't make a review about an anime that I think isn't really good, of course this is opinionated, but the animation plays a majour part in an anime. Not to say that character development, sound, and a good plot doesn't as well, because they all do.


Final Thoughts

My rating of this anime: 10 / 10

Without a doubt, this is one of the best anime series that I have seen. A few of you may remember the top 50 anime list I made a while back, and it so happens that Kyoukai no Kanata is now 3rd on that list, and I would definitely recommend to someone looking for a good anime.

To be honest, I was avoiding this series for a bit because I heard the protagonist was a bit of an airhead, and that was one of my pet-peeves in watching a new series. Like I said before though, it's been sitting in my laptop for quite a while, so I'm just looking for time to give it a chance.
