Discussion Zone Has Merged
TL;DR: Discussion Zone has joined Sinisterly. Compensation was given and most of the stuff was transfered.

Welcome to Sinisterly, members of Discussion Zone! If you weren't already aware, Discussion Zone was transferred to me last night after a conversation with Paradox. I have decided to merge Discussion Zone with Sinisterly. Moves are no fun, especially for administrators. However, I have done my absolute best to provide decent, if not excellent, accommodations for everyone.


[ What did we lose? ]

Not a whole lot was lost, really. Posts, members, and most of the stuff was transferred. The main things that people lost were upgrades, which they have been compensated for. The only other two things that come to mind are reputation and avatars. Since Sinisterly recently had a reputation reset, Discussion Zone members aren't at a disadvantage. What was lost, is being compensated for. For the most part, at least.


[ Compensation? ]

I've done my best to cover losses. I spent quite a while calculating how I would compensate people, since Discussion Zone had paid upgrades. What I decided to do, was compensate people based on how active or generous they were. Compensation has been given through the points system, which you can use to purchase upgrades here.

Activity
I gave all Discussion Zone members 50% of what they would have gotten on Sinisterly for posts, threads, poll-votes, and registration. Members that would have initially received more than 2500 SP, instead received 2500 SP + 10% of the amount in excess of 2500.

Donations:
I placed the value of Diamond at 5000 SP, Sapphire at 1500, and Emerald at 1000. The prices are similar on Sinisterly, with Super Elite costing a total of 5000 points to obtain. Diamond members received an additional 2500 SP, Sapphire members received an additional 750 SP, and Emerald members received an additional 500 SP.


[ Where are the groups? ]

Sinisterly has pretty big requirements for groups, so I plan to speak with leaders one-on-one to decide whether or not their group has a place here. I will contact leaders and the status of groups will be released in the future. The reason this is being done is so that we don't bring in any inactive groups.


[ Can't log in? Problems? ]

If someone on Sinisterly already had your username, you will need to append _DZ to the end of your username to log in. You will be eligible for a free name change and possible compensation. If you have any other issues or have problems logging in, please contact me as soon as possible.
